The UKAHPP is long-established accrediting organisation for Psychotherapists and Psychotherapeutic Counsellors who practice within the Humanistic tradition. Its Register of practitioners is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. As such UKAHPP is firmly committed to the highest standards of public protection and promoting public confidence in its Register and the wider profession.

Once on the UKAHPP Register, registrants can progress to Accredited and Higher Accredited status as Psychotherapeutic Counsellors or Psychotherapists. Higher Accreditation confers eligibility for UKCP registration.

UKAHPP is the only accrediting organisation of such status which is dedicated solely to promoting the Humanistic tradition of psychology. Humanistic values are deeply held and preserved by UKAHPP registered practitioners many of whom describe their UKAHPP membership as belonging to a community of like-minded colleagues. The UKAHPP membership is responsible for the organisation through the Board of Directors.

Members also have the opportunity to gain valuable, and enjoyable, experience by participating in the running and development of the organisation. This could involve joining the groups that maintain our essential professional functions of registration, accreditation and complaints administration but there are many other opportunities to join with colleagues in developing other important aspects of the organisation.
