Group Analysis South West (GASW) was founded in 2000 by members of the Institute of Group Analysis, London. GASW offers training in group analysis leading to qualification as a Group Analyst and Full Member of GASW. This training is accredited by UKCP and graduates may seek individual registration with UKCP.
Group analysis is a way of understanding the dynamics of groups and increasing the wellbeing of their individual members.
GASW offers a range of trainings, including a year long (30 weeks) Introductory Course to Group Analysis. Attendance on the introductory course is an entry requirement for GASW’s Diploma and Qualifying Courses.
GASW’s year-long Diploma in the Application of Group-analytic Principles qualifies it’s graduates to undertake group work in an agency setting. Its aim is to provide further training for those who have an interest in group analysis, either in a clinical or organisational setting, and to support their practice and professional development as a group therapist/consultant.
GASW also runs a four-year part time Qualifying Course in Group Analysis. The training is accredited by UKCP and graduation following completion of all course components leads to qualification as a Group Analyst, full membership of GASW and entitlement to register with UKCP.
All aspects of the training comply with the Codes of Ethics and Practice of the UKCP and GASW.
