Ellesmere Counselling and Psychotherapy Training was established in 2007 and has grown into a vibrant, inclusive community providing quality training in psychotherapeutic counselling, psychotherapy and supervision. Our training is grounded in humanistic traditions and informed by Transactional Analysis which is underpinned by the principal philosophy of I’m OK, You’re OK. We are integrative in our approach so inclusive of other perspectives and modalities.

We provide a comfortable and safe environment for the psychological, safety and learning needs of our students. Our relational perspective embodies the mutuality of commitment between student and trainer facilitated to be a co-creative, open and negotiable relationship of self-reflection, challenge and growth.

We believe the educational bond between student and trainer provides the holding and challenge necessary for trainee psychotherapists, counsellors and supervisors. Reflecting our professional philosophy of psychotherapy - the therapeutic relationship as the most significant medium for change.

ECPT promotes active engagement with difference providing an environment allowing competing and diverse perspectives on what it means to be human, to be considered, respected, and valued. Inclusivity is at the heart of our community and training.

Alongside our well established training, we provide placement and employment opportunities for our trainees and graduates through our community interest company (CIC) Space2BHeard.

On completion of our diploma training, we offer graduates a pathway to gain registration and accreditation onto the UKCP register.
