We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Jon Levett as UKCP's CEO. He will take up the role with immediate effect.
Jon has a wealth of experience with membership bodies, regulatory bodies and in the charity sector. He was previously CEO of the National Association of Funeral Directors and played a crucial part in guiding that organisation and its members through the pandemic at a time when funeral directors were required to work in a very different way. He also brings experience of working with the psychotherapeutic profession as he was previously CEO of the Institute of Psychoanalysis and has also been chair of the Ethics Committee and the Institute of Group Analysis.
This announcement comes after a four-month recruitment process that was led by the UKCP Board of Trustees. Dr Christian Buckland UKCP chair says:
'I am delighted to welcome Jon to UKCP and look forward to working closely with him and the Board to guide the strategy for UKCP. I would like to thank the Board of Trustees and UKCP colleagues for their support during the recruitment process.
'After a challenging few months at UKCP, we now have a full Board following the elections earlier this year. I really do believe we have an exciting opportunity to work more closely together, further promote the vast diversity of our modalities and to enjoy being members of the greatest psychotherapy body in the UK.'
Jon said of his appointment as CEO of UKCP:
'I am really looking forward to working at UKCP. The common theme running throughout my professional career has been a concern for high standards of training, professional competence and ethics. It will be a privilege to help UKCP navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead for the psychotherapy profession, and ensure that UKCP members get the recognition and reputation for excellence they deserve.'
