UKCP Ethics Committee

UKCP is the lead professional body and regulator for psychotherapists in the UK.

The UKCP Ethics Committee is seeking to recruit additional members.  In addition to two further lay members, it is particularly keen to recruit one or more therapists who are educators/trainers and one or more psychotherapy students/trainees on UKCP accredited courses.

We are seeking individuals with a with strong interest in, and commitment to, ethics in psychotherapy. Relevant experience may include having contributed to professional working groups, helping draft professional standards or teaching ethics and professionalism.

Being part of the Ethics Committee provides an exciting opportunity to meaningfully inform debates on key topics including boundaries, confidentiality, ethics and supervision as well as working towards integrating ethics into professional training.  For therapists, time participating in the ethics committee can be submitted for consideration towards CPD hours.

The Committee will meet six times a year, three of which will be in-person meetings. Committee members will be expected to contribute to streams of work between meetings. The role is unpaid but reasonable expenses will be covered.
