My Approach

I apply different aspects of my practice, depending on what we might decide is useful. My initial training was in psycho-dynamic psychotherapy (which focus’s more on our past attachments), as a systemic psychotherapist I am able use this underpinning to support your connection with yourself as well as with all your social relationships.

Sessions last from 50 mins to 1 hour long, and usually start off as weekly. We decide together, with regular reviews, how long we might want to work together, but usually work is between 6-12 sessions long.

About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist, offering opportunities to find strength, resource and resilience within the context of your life and relationships.

I have over 25 years of experience as a therapist working with families, couples and individuals both within my independent practice, for Barnados, NSPCC, RELATE, and currently NHS CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service) as a Lead Family & Systemic Psychotherapist.

I work with

  • Couples
  • Families
  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

As a systemic psychotherapist, I have extensive experience of working with families seeking to better understand each other within the wider context of their lives, and the patterns of communication they get 'caught up' in.
I currently work within an NHS community mental health team (CAMHS) and have experience of working with a wide range of mental health issues.
I have extensive experience of working with parents who struggling to be 'on the same page', or dealing with difficulties with their children's mental health or behaviour.
As a systemic psychotherapist, my approach is centred around how we manage relationships within the context of our lives. I seek to support people to think about how their lived experience might shape how the find themselves in relationships and their experience of others they seek to be in relationship with.
