My Approach

I offer conversations about the relationships within the family, community and wider systems and build on the strengths and resources within these systems to help children, adults and families. I aim to be collaborative by working together with the family on their goals and by harnessing their strengths. I engage with diversity and difference including gender, race, religion and ability. I seek to empower the family and boost the confidence and hope of its members and work collaboratively to create safe and empowering therapeutic relationships.
I offer limited private work at a therapy centre in Sheffield and online. I offer face to face work for adults, children and families in Sheffield and surrounding region and I can offer online work nationally.
I can work with different combinations of family members according to who they would like to participate and the goals. I offer a safe, confidential, accepting and positive space for families to talk and express emotions and explore the individual needs of family members. I understand that not everyone finds talking easy so we can adapt sessions, for example by using drawing or play. In my past work I have formed trusting and supportive relationships with families which they have appreciated.
I offer an informal conversation about how we might work together and an assessment of the situation. We can discuss sessions which are most likely to be helpful, which family members/ persons to involve, the frequency of sessions and will review our work at agreed intervals with reference to the family’s goals. Therapies I offer include
Systemic family therapy
Narrative, Solution-Focused, Strengths- based and Collaborative approaches.
