My Approach

I am a Systemic Family Psychotherapist.
I can help people in close relationships to better understand and support each other, talk about and work out their difficulties – often these are about relationships or communications – to find a way forward that might work better for everyone.

Family means different things to different people. It is whatever family means to you. We can decide together who might come. I am happy to meet with the whole family – together or individually – or just with you. I work with individuals, couples, children, teenagers, parents, grandparents, adult children, aunts, uncles, siblings, friends, carers, and other professionals – anyone who is involved, in any combination that will suit you best; everyone might not want to come; you might want to come alone.

Systemic Family Psychotherapy offers somewhere constant and stable during times of family change and uncertainty. It is objective, non-judgemental and creative. It is confidential – I have a strict code of confidentiality. The only time this will be broken is if a child is at risk, if an adult is at risk of serious harm or if I am otherwise legally obliged to do so.

I will not blame or take sides. I am interested in what everyone has to say and has experienced. I usually focus on present-day problems and how things might be different in a way that would work better for you all. I know that you will have tried lots of things, and I will not try to provide simple answers or explanations. Sometimes, it can be useful to talk about past experiences, family history, and other important people and contexts, and to think about deeper values, beliefs and culture. In meetings with children there might be less talking and more drawing or playing.

About Me

I have over fourteen years of experience as a registered health and social care professional, working in a variety of settings across Europe and the UK. I have extensive experience working with children, young people, and families with complex needs, in different settings.

I am passionate about working with queer young people and adults and I am interested in how queer people are reclaiming and renegotiating non-oppressive relationships with psychotherapy.

My recent work entails delivering family/systemic/individual therapy, systemic formulations, and assessments to young people in Child and Adolescent Mental Health settings and Gender Identity Development Services.

I offer systemic psychotherapy to adult individuals, couples, families and chosen families, parents, children, and young people that are exploring, negotiating and celebrating their diverse gender and sexual identity in different contexts and through different stages of their life.
I am interested in exploring preferred identities within the context of gender identity and sexuality, neurodiversity, and immigration.
We can explore together the stresses and opportunities that different life transitions can bring.
