My psychotherapeutic approach is holistic and integrative drawing from different psychotherapeutic models: humanistic, transpersonal, existential, and psychodynamic. My specialist areas include:
adoption psychotherapy and counselling specialist work – emotional loss – infertility – birth relative counselling
child abuse – child neglect – children in care
anxiety – trauma – low self-esteem – depression – negative behaviour patterns
therapeutic social work – early years – attachment styles
relationships – sexuality, gay
phobias - having worked with a phobia for most of my life, I can help you to explore the underlying causes of your phobia and support you to overcome the fear, stress and anxiety you may experience.
I qualified at CCPE in December 2018 receiving a post graduate diploma in psychotherapy and counselling (adults). I also hold a post qualifying diploma social work (children’s and families), MA social work (children’s and families), BA education (1st) and a Certificate in education (adult trainer). Prior to working as a psychotherapist I was a social worker for many years in Children and Families and more latterly in adoption.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
