My Approach

I work with people who might be struggling with how they feel and how they feel about themselves, and find this is impacting their sense of self, relationships and work. Sometimes there might be a sense that something is just not right and its hard to work out it what it is.

I can support people who are interested to get to know themselves better; working together to explore the ways of being that keep them stuck and dissatisfied, how these have developed and what other possibilities there may be. I bring support and challenge, creativity and myself and my deep belief in the power of relationship and paying attention to who we truly are and what IS as an enabler of real change.

Counselling and therapy can help with a wide range of personal and social difficulties.  Talking through and exploring your problems, with me, in privacy and without judgement can bring new perspectives, understanding and the possibility of real change.

My way of working emphasises close attention to how you feel, what you want and need, along with what you think and what you believe.  We can sift through the beliefs and thoughts that support you, and those that limit you or cause suffering.  We can explore what resources and supports you to live the life you want.

About Me

I am passionate about psychotherapy and the benefits it can bring. I really believe that real change is possible at an individual and collective level and am deeply committed to the lifelong path of journeying towards greater wholeness. I believe that this can stimulate action and ways of being in the world that is in service of us all and the planet, and that can ongoingly resource us as we face the challenges of the world as it is.

I completed training in Gestalt Therapy in 2017 at Edinburgh Gestalt Institute and the Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling with Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute in 2020. I have been working with clients in private practice since 2017 and before that, in the voluntary sector from 2015.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for many years in public sector policy and strategy, working in the education, skills and economic development world for many years. Alongside this busy career, my interest in self exploration initially led me to the study and practice of yoga, and later training to become a yoga teacher. Over time, I began to develop an interest in the world of emotional and mental wellbeing, and in organisational development and how people experience being in groups in my professional context; leading me to study and train in Gestalt Therapy. I enjoy drawing on this holistic approach to understanding and supporting human experience in all aspects of my professional and personal life.
