Hayley is a body psychotherapist. She supports clients to discover and trust their deepest feelings; assists them in finding ways of letting go of old restrictive patterns and developing the capacities to live a fuller and more satisfying life.
Within a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, clients are invited to connect more fully with who they really are, become more in tune with themselves and discover a different way of being in the world.
Hayley offers a form of psychotherapy that encourages clients to get to know themselves in their own time and way. Client wishes are always respected and the way we use the session and methods of exploration are agreed jointly.
Her approach is trauma informed and she has completed additional training with Babette Rothschild (The Body Remembers), in EMDR and more recently in guided drawing for trauma healing with Cornelia Elbrecht.
I completed training at the Metanoia Institute in Integrative Psychotherapy from 1997 to 2001. I became increasingly interested in the language and wisdom of the body leading me to commence training in Body Psychotherapy with Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre (2005 - 2011). My approach to healing is informed by my training and practice in Elemental Chi Kung and vipassana meditation.
Wanting to work alongside others in private practice, in 2010 I started Silk House Therapy & Wellbeing in Macclesfield, Cheshire. I am a co-founder and Director of the big room cic, also in Macclesfield, Cheshire. Our current projects include the exploring of Eldership in the Community.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
