My Approach

My philosophy is based on a integrative approach with an underlying foundation focused on transpersonal, and positive psychology, that empowers young and mature people by guiding and enriching their sense of identity and self, that supports and develops self-awareness, insight into repeated patterns, and builds self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth.

I use various tools such as a play therapy, guided visualisations, Emotional Freedom Technique, CBT, sand tray, and other tools to support where each individual is at, from working with a young children through to adults, couples, families and group work.

About Me

I have seventeen years of working with children, young people, adults, couples, families and group facilitation. Before setting up a private practice, I worked as lead facilitator, project manager and education and youth development officer for a charity called Teens and Toddlers. I created a holistic model that supported young people to connect to their meaning and purpose in life. I also worked at Kids Company as a key worker and therapist in primary and secondary school settings in East London. I worked ina boy’s secondary school, and developed and ran experiential workshops to support the emotional wellbeing of the boys, teachers and parents.

I worked for Achieving for Children (CAMHS), as a mental health practitioner, working in schools delivering resilient, anxiety and stress management training programs and also assessing clients for therapeutic allocation within CAMHS.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety has underlying issues which at times can be connected to preverbal trauma which is stored in the cellar level of body, which sends messages to brain when triggered. To support people with anxiety, I incorporate Emotional Freedom Technique, CBT and neuroscience with psycho-education to support a way through to work and transform anxiety in positive way.
Family issues are often related to intergenerational trauma and played out with both parents unknowingly, and children are often pulled into the family system and play roles to alleviate the stress and tension of the parents. I like working with families as young children often can bring a reparative healing to any traumatic incidents if all family members are willing to participate in the work.
I have worked through Adverse Childhood Experiences which led me to experiencing several crisis related to my own childhood traumas. I am in position to support both young and mature people to work through such challenges they face with mental health issues.
As a person of colour who had suffered extreme racial abuse and prejudices and from my own community, I am in a position to support people who are traumatised by the impact of unconscious bias, racism and prejudices and also who may be unconscious to their own internalised racism and internalised prejudices. I also work with Caucasian clients who have difficulties in processing unconscious bias and white privilege.
Looking at spirituality from an objective perspective I work with the philosophy that each individual has a a key to unlock their meaning and purpose in life which ultimately allows the individual to reconnect to their essence/soul and find the answers to their questions. I work with a transpersonal model which incorporates all faiths and beliefs.
