My Approach

As an integrative psychotherapist, I offer 1-1 and couples counselling on both a short- and long-term basis. By ‘integrative’ I mean that I draw upon a mix of the best known modalities depending on the needs of the client.

I have experience dealing with depression; anxiety; marital, family, relationship, illness, cultural and work problems; sexual issues; loneliness; and those seeking greater satisfaction and fulfilment from their lives.

I am most influenced by Person-centred counselling, and Existentialism, and also the work of Carl Jung, Attachment and Psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis, and issues related to living in unfamiliar cultures.

The most significant common thread through all of the above modalities is the relationship between client and therapist, which I believe is instrumental in the client experiencing positive growth during therapy.

About Me

I qualified as a Supervisor via a PG-Diploma with the Minster Centre (2022) and in 2023 I've successfully completed Person-centred and Experiential training with Metanoia.

Prior to this, I gained my Post-Graduate Diploma (2012), Masters (2016), and Advanced Diploma (2014) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at Regents' University in London. In 2011, I took a Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Mary Ward Centre in London.

I have also studied with the Tavistock centre for working with couples (where one partner is suffering from depression).

I worked with NHS clients from 2014-2023 in various West London clinics, and also work privately in central London.

During my time living overseas, and in my NHS work I have gained a lot of experience on the subject of cultural difference and integration particularly for those living abroad. My Masters thesis was entitled Voyages into the Unknown.

I charge £70 per 50 minute session during working hours Monday-Friday either on zoom or face-to-face within my home.

For OAPs, benefit claimants, full-time students, trainee counsellors, key workers, and my former NHS clients, I offer concessionary rates with proof of status.

I'm available between 10pm-6pm on weekdays. Please inquire to find out my current availability at specific times.

Before training to be a psychotherapist, I worked as a print and broadcast journalist for over 20 years. I have lived and worked overseas extensively and am particularly familiar with Eastern, European and Latin American cultures and have a good understanding of Spanish and French.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Probably the most common problem that I've encountered in my NHS work since 2014.
I find it useful to draw on my experience of having lived overseas – as a child and adult – for a number of years in places such as The Philippines, The Netherlands, Ecuador, France, Colombia and the United States as well as living and working in London for around 30 years.
I successfully completed a Post-graduate diploma in Integrative Supervision from the Minster Centre in 2022. I have experience working on a 1-1 basis and with groups.
