My Approach

I believe that people have within themselves, the ability to realise their own best potential. However, sometimes things get in the way of us being all that we can be. For example, difficult relationships, traumatic experiences, low confidence or negative messages about ourselves can stop us living our lives to the full.

In relationship with each other, we can work together to gain insight into what has been holding you back and think about ways that can help you move towards your full potential.

You may wish to explore things like:

Anxiety
Generalised Anxiety Disorder
Depression
Panic
Relationship issues
Sexuality/Gender identity
Bereavement
Boredom or dissatisfaction
Abuse
Self-esteem
Trauma

I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with a private practice which is currently based online. I can work with clients anywhere throughout the UK.

I can offer you a safe and confidential space where you can explore whatever might be troubling you, or stopping you from meeting your best potential in life.

About Me

I am a fully qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Integrative Counselling from Matrix College of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Accred. Middlesex University.)

I have been working with clients in a range of settings for eight years, and have my own private practice alongside agency work.

I have developed a particular expertise in working with people who want to explore gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity. There are many issues that we might face as we explore these aspects of ourselves, however you identify.

These can include shame, coming out to yourself and others when safe to do so, fear of judgement. They might also include an exploration of your beliefs and attitudes to sexuality, sex, desire, consent and relationships in general.

I am interested in all types of relationships, with self and with others, and how the relationships in our past and present affect us. Generally, I like working with people to think outside the box that has been prescribed for them. 'One size fits all' doesn't work in a society of beautifully unique individuals.

I worked for five years as a counsellor for Suffolk County Council within a Sure-start Children's Centre. This has given me an extensive experience of working with a wide range of clients, and a multitude of different issues.

I have particular and extensive experience in working with Domestic Abuse, and have gained valuable experience working for Women's Aid. I have received training in understanding different types of abuse, as well as coercive control.

I am DBS checked, and am trained in adult and children's safeguarding.

I am trained to work with individuals aged 18 and beyond. All genders, sexualities and ethnicity are welcomed and celebrated.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have particular experience in working with the effects of Domestic Abuse, and I have been trained in working with all aspects of abuse. This includes working with less obvious forms of abuse such as emotional or coercive control. I have experience of training with the Freedom programme, and of working with Women's Aid.
I have in-depth experience of working with issues arising from complex family dynamics. I can work with you to explore the relationships around you, and how they may be affecting you. I also have a lot of experience working with traumatic pregnancy and birth. I have also worked a lot with issues relating to development and early years parenting.
I also enjoy, and am interested in working with people wishing to explore issues relating to gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity. I use the pronouns she/her.
