i have extensive experience of working with the impact of violence and abuse in families providing a combination of individual and familial work where appropriate. This includes the understanding of traumatic experiences, Adverse Childhood Experiences and approaches that minimise their affects
I work with couples in understanding the emotional and practical bonds that underpin couple relationships . I explore the impact of familial history, attachment history and the way differences and conflict can magnify feelings of anxiety and potentialloss. I consider the wider context of cultural identities and political pressures and the way they connect to our intimate relationships . Exploration and consideration of narratives of parenting, parenting decisions where relevant.
Interest in helping individuals suffering from depression and anxiety in the context of their own needs and perhaps with the contribution of other family members. Looking to understand the impact of gender, race, age, spirituality on relationship to individual distress and resilience.
I see families at all life stages including adult families who need space to talk together about aspects of their relationship which may follow illness or death, marriage, or early family experiences which continue to resonate. also particular consequences of separation and divorce in both helping decision making and managing the impact.
