About Me

Honest, effective, creative treatment, grounded in evidence.

I am an established private UKCP registered psychotherapist. NHS trained and experienced in leading evidence-based treatments and in Integrative Psychotherapy, I tailor a way of working to meet your unique needs and personality style to help you achieve genuine sustainable progress.

Working from my practises in City of London, Harley Street & Mayfair, I help people with a wide range of difficulties, from complex diagnosed mental health conditions, to feelings of depression and anxiety, low self esteem, and difficult relationship and workplace problems.

Outside my direct clinical work I regularly contribute to media outlets such as BBC on issues surrounding mental health and am a Board and Executive Committee member of the International Attachment Network, an international psychotherapy training and educational organisation. I also as a UKCP supervisor in training, offer low cost supervision to psychological clinicians.

I am trained in Integrative, Psychodynamic (Attachment based), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) and am informed by developments in neurobiology and contemporary trauma treatment and stabilization techniques including but not limited to mindfulness.

This broad training means I can offer comprehensive help to each client for example, providing plenty of space for you to tell your story, placing a greater or lesser emphasis on your childhood, using more or less structured thinking and diagrams, or perhaps trying gentle but effective behavioural experiments or body based emotional regulatory techniques.

I believe that the key to good treatment lies in a strong therapeutic relationship. I work in a warm, supportive, open and collaborative way, making sure your voice is heard and respected and that you come to understand yourself; your needs, conflicts, anxieties, defenses, and relational patterns on a much deeper level, enabling you to explore alternative ways of being and relating, to help bring you greater satisfaction and stability.

I believe that it is important that you understand the pyschotherapeutic process and your progress. I regularly offer and invite feedback.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I am a UKCP Registered Clinical Supervisor for psychological therapists. I currently supervise trainees, newly qualified and experienced psychotherapists, counsellors and psychologists (clinical and counselling). I work integratively and relationally, drawing on a number of theoretical perspectives and techniques to provide an additional reflective perspective on the supervisees clinical work; the relationship between them and their client, the client and their world, the cultural and environmental context, and of course the relationship with me. My aim as a supervisor is to help the supervisee broaden and/or fine tune their client and counter-transferential/inner process focus, to contact deeper meaning and greater creativity. Essential to good supervision is an open and robust relationship. I offer a collegial, non-judgmental, warm and good-humoured professional relationship. I aim to balance support and positive feedback with sufficient challenge adjusted to the supervisee’s level of professional developmental, to enable them to grow their confidence and skills. As a practicing psychotherapist, I am UKCP registered integrative adult individual psychotherapist currently working in private practise in London. I integrate thinking and techniques from MBT, CAT and trauma work into a contemporary attachment-based model of human development and pathology augmented with existential perspectives on meaning and identity. My previous work included NHS secondary care (mood and personality disorders) as an individual CAT psychotherapist and assessor and as part of an MDT as an MBT psychotherapist. I am currently also a group supervisor at Brent Bereavement Services as well as a Director of the International Attachment Network (IAN) an international non-profit established by colleagues of John Bowlby with the aim of popularising attachment theory thought and training in psychology and beyond.
