I specialise in issues concerning sexual or relationship difficulties, including issues of sexually compulsive behaviour ("sexual addiction").
I have extensive experience as an NHS Psychotherapist, a Primary Care Counsellor, a University Counsellor, and in several industrial and commercial settings, as well as in private practice.
I have experience of working with many issues but currently specialise in the treatment of psychosexual and relationship intimacy issues, including sexually compulsive behaviour or addiction. My approach is informed by my psychoanalytic training, but I have learned to be adaptive to the needs of each individual or couple and the issues they bring, and so I work in flexible and responsive ways. Clients say that I am someone with whom it is possible to be at ease and to speak openly about troubling matters. With a wide experience of many life issues, my aim is to provide a consistent and reliable resource which can help you to understand and accept yourself better and to gain a greater sense of control over your life.
NB: During the present Coronavirus situation, I am working by Zoom rather than meeting clients face-to-face. This is a mode of therapy that I have used for a number of years and it is possible for effective therapeutic work to take place. I have completed over 100 hours of training in online counselling and will continue to offer this mode of therapy for the foreseeable future.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
