My Approach

Perhaps family or other relationships are troubling you, or a recent change in your life has left you struggling to cope, unable to see the wood from the trees?

As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I work collaboratively with individuals and couples when they’re feeling emotionally vulnerable, helping them through difficult life experiences and dilemmas. Psychotherapy can help you find relief from symptoms, such as depression or anxiety, understand yourself better, and find peace and confidence about the way forward.

Integrative psychotherapy integrates a wide range of research and ideas about who we are as humans in a changing world, and what we need.
This means, for example, that when I’m listening to you, I will consider how your family and cultural experiences might have shaped and affected you, as well as the impact of traumatic experiences on your body and mind - such as relationship breakdowns, redundancy, health problems, or perhaps the impact of Covid-19.

I’m happy to arrange a short conversation on the phone, free of charge before you book a first appointment.

About Me

In my late 30’s I was in a corporate career and going through a difficult period of my life. Therapy helped me so much it inspired me to retrain as a counsellor and then psychotherapist; I gained a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling and then, with further training, an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute, in London. This training is rigorous: it includes a wide range of contemporary theory, many hours of clinical practice and of personal therapy, as well as a placement on a large psychiatric ward (Prospect Hospital in Reading). I also have a Certificate in Couples Counselling from Basingstoke Counselling Service and a Certificate in Intimate Relationship Therapy from the Clinical Institute of Contemporary Sexology (CICS).
