Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. Movement Psychotherapist
My focus is around supporting clients to think about their relationships, positive aspects of their lives and strengths alongside sharing concerns. I am also an Iyengar yoga teacher and believe that the body is an important entity when exploring our emotional and psychological selves. I am skilled in bringing together the mind and body through a variety of models including mindfulness, body and movement psychotherapy, narrative, systemic, person centred and psychodynamic approaches. I believe that people are experts of their own lives and I aim to help clients experience that, working collaboratively with them.
I have over fourteen years post qualifying practice. I also offer support online or on the telephone. I practice privately and also work for the NHS in a children and adolescent mental health disability service in East London where a large percentage of children referred are under 5. I support parents whose infants present with developmental concerns and older children with needs also. I also work on a neonatal unit which has enabled me to work closely with parents whose babies are born prematurely or full term but unwell. I am passionate about my work with parents and babies and have furthered my skills in this area through my training in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG). Currently I am training as a VIG supervisor. I am also an EMDR therapist in training.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
