My Approach

Psychotherapy is at heart a collaborative process, held within the frame of a relationship based on trust, offering a compassionate, non-judgemental space for you to share and process emotional difficulties and experiences. It’s a chance to give yourself time and space to think about how things are for you. Sometimes it’s hard to identify what brings you to therapy but that things feel stuck or somehow not quite right.

Working together we’ll explore what is of concern to you, helping you try to make sense and meaning of what you’re experiencing. Whatever you’re bringing to therapy this process of working through can lead to new perspectives and a deeper self-understanding, including a greater sense of how you relate to yourself, others, and the world and how this came to be. It can create possibilities for change and for new ways of holding what is difficult.

An initial appointment is opportunity for you to let me know what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to get out of it, for you to get a sense of how I work, and for us to see whether I am the right person to give you the support you need.
