My Approach

I am a Humanistic-Existential Psychotherapist who integrates therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. My work is grounded in an understanding of how historical and developmental experiences shape people’s lives, relationships, and sense of self.

I support clients by valuing their individuality, lived experiences, and intersectionality, while acknowledging the shared humanity we all bring into the therapeutic space. Many people come to therapy seeking to make sense of existential questions about identity, meaning, relationships, or even life and death. I provide a safe and reflective environment where these concerns can be explored with compassion and openness.

I am committed to being a culturally competent therapist and welcome clients of all backgrounds, genders, races, and identities. I hold an awareness of difference in the therapy room and invite clients to explore this safely, should they wish to. My practice is guided by unconditional positive regard, non-judgement, and empathy.

A key part of my work is attentiveness to attachment patterns, as these often illuminate how past relationships continue to influence present-day experiences. I have experience supporting clients with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, and a wide range of other mental health challenges.

I work with both short- and long-term clients, and approach endings with care by collaboratively reviewing progress, exploring readiness, and planning for a thoughtful conclusion to therapy. My overall aim is to create a space where clients can build self-awareness, resilience, and growth at a pace that feels right for them.

About Me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important to know you don’t have to go through things alone. I am a qualified psychotherapist with an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from the University of Warwick. I previously worked as a mental health practitioner and counsellor with Coventry and Warwickshire Mind. I currently offer a safe space in my private practice, where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind, whether it’s difficult feelings, painful experiences, or questions about who you are and where you’re going in life.

I take time to really listen and understand you as a whole person, not just the challenges you may be facing. Together we can look at how your past experiences might be affecting you today, explore patterns in your relationships, and find new ways of coping that feel right for you. My aim is to support you in making sense of your feelings, building resilience, and moving toward greater clarity, confidence, and well-being.

I work with people facing a wide range of struggles including trauma, anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or big life changes. I also support people who are reflecting on deeper questions about identity, meaning, purpose, or spirituality.

I believe every person is unique, and I value and respect difference in all its forms. Whatever your background, culture, or identity, you will be met with care, empathy, and acceptance. Therapy with me is a collaborative process: we move at your pace, and I walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and understanding.

Most importantly, this is your space. A place to be heard, to feel supported, and to discover new possibilities for yourself and your life . I see therapy as a mutual process, and our first step will be exploring whether this space and relationship feel right for both of us. Therefore, I offer a one-off, no obligation 30-minute session. This is to explore the likelihood of us working together. My contact details are Email: yebanjinaiyeju@gmail.com Telephone number: 07710668842

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

In my practice, I integrate an understanding of attachment, trauma, and developmental history with a sensitivity to cultural context, supporting clients to make meaning of their experiences while developing resilience and self-awareness. I work with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity struggles, and relational challenges, always attending to the ways culture and personal history intersect with their mental health. My approach is collaborative and empathic, providing validation, acceptance, and support for clients to connect with their strengths, build insight, and explore personal growth within the context of their cultural identity.
I have extensive experience supporting adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges. My approach recognises the deep impact that trauma, loss, and adverse life experiences can have on emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, identity struggles, and relational difficulties, offering a safe and compassionate space where feelings can be explored openly and without judgment. My practice is guided by the belief that healing happens within relationships that are authentic, collaborative, and grounded in empathy.
I work with individuals to navigate conflict in relationships, loss, grief, boundaries, and relational trauma, providing a safe and non-judgmental space to reflect on patterns, emotions, and communication styles. Alongside relational work, I support clients in exploring spiritual questions, values, and beliefs, helping them connect with a deeper sense of purpose, meaning, and inner resilience. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and integrative, emphasising empathy, curiosity, and acceptance. I create a safe space for clients to explore their emotional and spiritual wellbeing, and hopefully cultivate a life that feels authentic and connected to their core values.
Drawing on my background as a psychotherapist, I design and deliver training that equips professionals with the knowledge, skills, and reflective capacity to work safely and effectively with people affected by trauma. In addition to individual therapy, I offer consultation and reflective support for professionals to strengthen trauma awareness, resilience, and well-being within organisations. I hold a strong belief that with consistency, empathy, and curiosity, healing and growth are always possible. My training style is collaborative and experiential, balancing theory with practical tools that staff can apply directly in their roles. I focus on creating a safe space where participants can explore complex issues with openness and curiosity. I deliver workshops on trauma awareness, emotional regulation, attachment, resilience, and reflective practice, with a strong emphasis on PACE-informed and relationship-based care. Whether working with residential staff, social workers, or organisational leaders, I aim to enhance trauma-informed practice, strengthen team resilience, and improve outcomes for those we support.
I am a Trauma-Informed psychotherapist with a focus on supporting individuals who are living with the impact of trauma, loss, and relational challenges. Central to my practice is creating a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where individuals can begin to make sense of their experiences and reconnect with their strengths and resources. As part of this process, I support clients in exploring the influence of their childhood experiences and early attachments, helping them make sense of how the past continues to shape patterns in the present. Guided by humanistic values, I place the individual at the heart of the work, respecting their autonomy, lived experience, and capacity for growth. Through an existential lens, I support clients in exploring questions of meaning, identity, and freedom while navigating life’s uncertainties. My integrative approach draws on trauma-focused, relational, and somatic practices, always tailored to the unique needs of each person. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, identity struggles, and the lasting effects of trauma. My therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and attuned, with an emphasis on co-regulation, emotional safety, and pacing that honours the client’s readiness. I aim to help individuals build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and move toward a greater sense of connection, agency, and possibility.
