I currently work online, in-person and outdoors. You might be struggling or feeling stuck in your life. Maybe you feel like something is missing, maybe you feel sad or angry or there is past trauma, or maybe you’re in the middle of difficult life changes. Self understanding leads to self acceptance and a feeling that you're ok - and this gives you choices about how to change the parts of yourself you want to change.
Psychotherapy is about providing a space for you to work through your thoughts, feelings, and behaviour so you can understand things that are causing difficulty. Having someone trained to just listen, witness, and shine a light can be a huge relief.
Where appropriate, I can offer ‘walking and talking’ therapy, sometimes referred to as ecotherapy. This approach helps us think about our relationship with our environment and how this impacts our wellbeing.
I'm trained as a Psychodynamic therapist but I am Jungian informed and I integrate other interventions as appropriate, eg. CBT and DBT, and mindfulness.
I’m a qualified, registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I achieved a Masters degree (level 7) in counselling and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am also registered with the East Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy. My therapeutic work is also Jungian informed and both these approaches help you think at depth about different aspects of your life. I can bring in CBT, DBT and solution focussed modalities into short to medium counselling. I’m very experienced with young adults (18+), Highly Sensitive People, and neurodiverse people. A free short telephone or online call is available so you can decide if my approach is for you.
Online therapy gives an option for those who are mobility limited, living with chronic illness, or if you simply prefer your own space.
Depending on your needs I can provide the following:-
Short to medium term counselling.
Longer term psychotherapy.
Outdoor / ecotherapy where appropriate.
I also offer EAP work on request.
I offer psychodynamic supervision - qualified with SDS Accreditation in Clinical Supervision, Level 2 (AAC), and I completed extensive and in-depth supervisory training with the British Psychotherapy Foundation.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
