My Approach

My approach is inherently person-centred and relational. Alongside this, I draw upon motivational interviewing to help you discover your own answers and strengths, free from the expectations or influences of others. My work is also informed by developmental psychology, neurobiology, and psychodynamic theory.

I offer a warm, respectful, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. Together, we will explore your feelings, make sense of your experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of what you need. My aim is to support you through whatever difficulties you may be facing and help you move towards greater clarity, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

Feeling safe, accepted, and not rushed is fundamental to the therapeutic process. My experience working with vulnerable and hard-to-reach clients has taught me the importance of meeting people where they are, rather than where others think they should be.

I focus on building a trusting therapeutic relationship at a pace that feels comfortable for you. This relationship provides the foundation for meaningful exploration, healing, and change.

I will also actively engage in the therapeutic process by helping you identify recurring patterns, exploring the origins of behaviours that may be causing conflict or distress, and making sense of how your past experiences continue to influence your present life.

Together, we can develop greater self-awareness, challenge unhelpful patterns, and explore healthier ways of relating to yourself and others that are more closely aligned with your values and aspirations.

My goal is to support you in living a happier, more fulfilling life that feels true to who you are. I aim to help you strengthen your sense of self, build confidence and self-assurance, and develop healthier, more meaningful relationships.

Focused Therapeutic Explorations:
Sometimes there is a particular aspect of ourselves or our experiences that we would like the opportunity to understand more deeply.
Alongside ongoing psychotherapy, I offer a number of focused six-session therapeutic explorations. These provide a dedicated space to explore a particular area of your life and develop a greater understanding of yourself, your experiences and the influences that may have shaped you.

The six sessions provide a framework for our work rather than a prescribed programme. We will explore what feels most relevant to you and your individual experiences, at a pace that feels appropriate.

Exploring Self & Identity:
A focused six-session therapeutic exploration for people who would like to better understand their sense of self and the experiences that have shaped who they are.

Our identity can be influenced by many aspects of our lives, including our early experiences, relationships, family and cultural backgrounds, neurodivergence, significant life experiences and the expectations placed upon us by others. At times, these different influences can leave us feeling uncertain, conflicted or disconnected from parts of ourselves.

Across six sessions, we will explore the experiences and relationships that have contributed to your developing sense of self, including the ways you may have learned to adapt in order to belong, feel accepted or meet the needs and expectations of others.
The sessions offer space to consider what feels authentically yours, what may have been shaped by others, and how different or seemingly conflicting parts of yourself might be better understood and integrated.

This exploration may be particularly helpful if you are experiencing questions around identity, belonging, life transitions, relationships or a sense of having lost touch with yourself.

The aim is not to arrive at a fixed definition of who you are, but to support a greater understanding, acceptance and integration of the different parts of yourself.

Understanding Your Neurodivergence:
A focused six-session therapeutic exploration offering space to understand yourself and your experiences through a neurodivergent lens.
Receiving a diagnosis, awaiting an assessment, identifying as neurodivergent or beginning to question whether you may be can lead to a new understanding of yourself and your past experiences bringing about a mixture of recognition, relief, uncertainty, grief and sometimes anger.

Across six sessions, we can explore how neurodivergence may have shaped your experiences of childhood, education, relationships, work and your developing sense of self. We may consider the ways you have learned to adapt or mask, experiences of feeling different or misunderstood, and the impact this may have had on your confidence, relationships and emotional wellbeing.

We can also explore your individual patterns and needs, including areas such as attention, sensory experiences, emotional regulation, overwhelm, executive functioning, communication and relationships so we can recognise what supports you and consider ways of working with, rather than continually against yourself.

You do not need to have a formal diagnosis to undertake these sessions.

The aim is to support greater self-understanding, self-acceptance and a more integrated sense of who you are. These sessions do not constitute a diagnostic assessment for ADHD or autism.

Exploring Cultural Identity & Belonging:
A six-session exploration of culture, belonging and the different worlds that may have shaped who you are.
Our cultural identity can be influenced by family, heritage, community, migration, relationships, language, values and the wider society in which we live.
For some people, navigating different cultural worlds can bring richness and connection, but it can also create feelings of uncertainty, conflict or not fully belonging in one place or another.

Together, we can explore the cultural messages and expectations you have grown up with, the values that remain important to you, and areas where your own needs or beliefs may feel in conflict with family, cultural or societal expectations.

The aim is not to choose between different parts of your identity or to reject where you have come from, but to develop a greater understanding of what feels meaningful and authentic to you and how the different influences that have shaped you might coexist.

How the Six Sessions Work:
We will begin by thinking together about what has brought you to this particular area of exploration and what you would like to gain from our work.
Over the six sessions, we may use therapeutic conversation, reflection and exploratory exercises to help us understand the experiences, relationships and patterns that feel most relevant to you.

Although each exploration has a suggested framework, the sessions are not a course or a fixed programme. Our work will be shaped around you and what emerges during the therapeutic process.

In our final session, we will reflect on what you have discovered and consider what you may want to take forward. If the work raises areas you would like to explore more deeply, we can also discuss whether ongoing psychotherapy may be helpful.

About Me

My name is Wei, and I hold a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy. I am a UKCP-accredited Integrative Psychotherapist.

As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw upon a range of therapeutic theories and approaches, tailoring my work to meet your individual needs. I understand that every person experiences life differently, shaped by their unique history, relationships, culture, social context, neurotype and life experiences.

Our work begins with understanding your perspective - how your past experiences, relationships, cultural background, and current circumstances influence what you are feeling today. Before considering any particular therapeutic approach, I aim to understand you through your own unique lens and work collaboratively in a way that feels meaningful and supportive.

In today's fast-paced world, it is easy to lose sight of ourselves as we become caught up in constant demands, digital overload, and the pressure to keep moving forward. Therapy offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most to you.

I view the therapeutic process as an opportunity to create a more meaningful, fulfilling, and authentic life.

I understand that finding the right therapist can feel challenging. If you feel that I may be able to help, I invite you to arrange an initial session, either online or in person. This provides an opportunity for us to meet, explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss what you hope to gain from our work together, and see whether we feel like the right fit.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I am interested in exploring different neurotypes and supporting individuals with neurodivergence - I have recently undergone training in working with Autism and ADHD.
Therapy provides a space to explore how you experience, process and express anger. Together, we can explore your emotional responses, identify underlying triggers, consider how past experiences and relationships have influenced these patterns whilst developing an understanding of where these patterns may have originated. Together we can work towards responding to anger in ways that feel healthier, more manageable and more aligned with your values.
I am also interested in exploring different neurotypes and supporting individuals with neurodivergence - I have recently undergone training in working with Autism and ADHD.
As an integrative psychotherapist, I am particularly interested in how our early experiences, relationships, culture and social environment influence our sense of identity. I work with clients experiencing identity conflict, cultural dilemmas, low self-worth, life transitions and other experiences that can leave them feeling disconnected with themselves. My aim is to support you to integrate these experiences into a more authentic, stable and compassionate sense of self.
