My Approach

Starting a counselling process can feel daunting. Your Journey begins with a single step which you have already made by reading this information.

You may feel stuck with anxious and/or depressed feelings and would like to learn healthy ways to cope and move forward. Would you like to learn more positive ways of communicating with your child, partner, parent or family? Or perhaps you wish to have a deeper connection with your partner. You hold the key to make positive changes for a happier, satisfying and fulfilling life.

It's important that the psychotherapist supporting and engaging with you feels like a good fit for you and your needs, therefore I offer a free initial consultation call. After an initial assessment I can offer short and long-term support for people at all stages of life including children, adolescents and adults, couples, parents and families.

I have worked in the National Health Service NHS-UK mental health services for 8 years with people experiencing a range of difficulties

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Experiencing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or supporting someone with a diagnosis of ADHD can be a challenging and tiring experience. One of my specialties is supporting children, young people, adults, and parents to find helpful ways to manage and function with these diagnosis.
Depression and anxiety are two of the leading mental and emotional health difficulties world-wide today. Talking about the symptoms you experience and acknowledging these feelings is an important step in improving your mental and emotional health.
Mental health, defined by the World Health Organization, is “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”. Through the therapeutic support I offer to clients, we explore helpful ways to manage emotions and feelings, while highlighting personal strengths that help client's thrive.
Human relationships can be influenced by difficult life events, and these are often the cause of disrupted feelings and emotions. Talking about the way we feel a relationship with family members, friends, or work colleagues is going can help consider factors that affect or may support our relationships.
I am an approved clinical supervisor in the UK and US. I offer individual and small group supervision sessions to therapists in training, newly qualified therapists, as well as experienced psychotherapists and counselors. The modalities that inform my Supervision are: Person Centred, Systemic Family Therapy, CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT and EMDR, Non-Violent Resistant NVR, Attachment and Emotional Availability, parenting, and Couples. In supervision, I am interested in offering support and reflect about the self of the therapist, think about personal and professional strengths, as well as areas to develop. I highlight aspects of differences and similarities between the therapist/. counselor and myself (or in a group setting), and as importantly, I encourage therapists to think about similarities and differences in the therapeutic work with clients.
