My Approach

I enjoy and am experienced working with a very diverse range of issues including anxiety and depression, low self esteem, bullying, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, loss, divorce, abandonment, attachment and trauma, and with a wide range of Adult clients (18+) including those from the LGBTQ+ and BAME communities and those with personality disorders.
Whether you are looking at this website for you, a family member or friend, I believe my humanistic approach to therapy, where the focus is on the uniqueness of the individual and their ability to heal, can really provide a compassionate space to be able to unlock your inner resources and help resolve anxieties, leading to healthier future relationships.

About Me

As a relational humanistic psychotherapist, I specialise in creating a warm and safe, non-judgmental and empathic space where clients are able to explore any difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are getting in the way of healthy living, gaining insight into how to go forward. Oftentimes having suffered a significant life event such as a loss or bereavement, perhaps a divorce or other confusing relationship issues in the distant past, we become blocked, needing effective strategies and techniques to continue. I work online (during Covid lockdowns) by telephone or face to face, in both short and long term settings.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Having worked with many clients with anxiety and depression at MIND Talking therapies, I feel able to provide a good therapeutic space for those suffering from anxiety
Having working with many clients with depression at MIND Talking therapies, I feel able to provide an empathic, non-judgemental therapeutic space for those suffering from depression and help provide insights around many of the causes of this debilitating condition.
Having worked with many clients on issues ranging from anxiety, depression, trauma and attachment, I feel that often family dynamics can be impacting mental health and working with this can be very helpful
Mental health issues can often be the result of layer upon layer of difficult or traumatic experiences - often left in the body as discomfort, or depression and anxiety. Becoming curious and helping to unravel these experiences is something I am very interested in.
A number of my clients have been transgender - often suffering with depression and anxiety and I am very interested in working with this minority group in finding ways of navigating what are often difficult life experiences.
