My Approach

Psychotherapy offers you a unique opportunity to talk about what is holding you back from living your most fulfilling life. I can help you explore your thoughts, feelings and difficulties in complete privacy and without judgement.

I provide a safe space in which I will support you to transform your life, making positive changes to your mood, wellbeing and relationships.

You may be seeking a solution to a particular problem. You may be hoping for relief from distressing thoughts, memories or symptoms. You may not have a specific issue that you want to work through, but wish to lead a more fulfilling and enjoyable life.

You may just want to talk to someone.

I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, and I am trained and experienced in not only giving you strategies to manage your problems, but also in helping you understand the underlying reasons for your issues so that they do not continue to trouble you in the future.

I believe that our past experiences shape the way that we think and feel about ourselves and others. If you had some challenging early experiences, these may be contributing to your current difficulties, which can be worked through in therapy. I will support you to process and resolve your issues for long-term results and positive changes that you can maintain.

My aim is not only to alleviate your most obvious symptoms but to help you lead a healthier and happier life.

About Me

I am an experienced Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, having previously worked as a Senior Psychotherapist in the NHS and in university mental health services. I developed my private practice alongside my NHS work before leaving to solely dedicate my passion and energy to my private practice.

I offer private and confidential one-to-one psychotherapy sessions, either in person at my consulting room, or online. I can offer daytime and evening appointments. Each session is 50 minutes long, and would usually take place weekly. I tailor the sessions to you and the length of therapy is flexible, based on your needs.

I work with

  • Companies
  • Individuals
  • Private healthcare referrals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I specialise in supporting people to work through traumatic experiences in their life, and in particular, if you have experienced emotional, physical or sexual abuse. This abuse may have occurred in your childhood, or your adult life, and you may feel haunted by painful memories, or you may be struggling to move on from past trauma. I can help you process what has happened in your life, make sense of the impact of these experiences, and express your feelings without any judgment or blame.
I have extensive experience in supporting people work through various types of anxiety, including social anxiety. Anxiety can feel crippling, lonely and exhausting. I can help you understand you triggers, or the reasons for your anxiety to increase, and how these may be managed differently. Often the current triggers are underpinned by deeper underlying causes, which are more difficult to grasp, but I can help you work through these root causes therapy, with the aim of preventing anxiety from repeating in the future.
I specialise in supporting people work through periods of low mood and depression. Depression can be a very lonely place, and you may not understand why you feel this way or how to feel better. I can help you explore these difficult thoughts and feelings, understand what may be causing them and work through what may be holding you back. It is common to feel stuck, or hopeless, and you may have experienced depression for a long period of time, but therapy can help you regain a sense of control and empower you to make positive changes.
I have been providing online therapy via Zoom for a number of years and have completed specialist training to ensure that I can offer an online space that is secure and confidential. You may prefer online therapy for a number of reasons, you may feel safer and more comfortable having therapy from the comfort of your own home, and it may be more convenient not having to travel or consider the location of the therapist. You may also find it easier to open up without being in the same room as your therapist. If you have any questions about online therapy, or would like to arrange a session, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Many people struggle to make or maintain relationships, and have difficulties with partners, friends, family or colleagues. Your current relationships may be affected by patterns of behaviour that are linked to your earliest relationships within your family, and your experiences throughout childhood. We can explore what may be at the heart of your difficulties within relationships, and work through what is preventing your relationships from being more positive, meaningful and fulfilling.
