About Me
I am a certified Transactional Analyst, trained in Relational TA at the Metanoia Institute in London. I'm also a trained nurse and I work in both professions.

Special Interests
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
Anxiety can be both debilitating and life restricting. I believe that the start of any effective treatment is establishing a safe and secure working alliance from where we can both manage the symptoms with grounding techniques and explore the origins of your anxiety.
If you are bereaved or anticipating a bereavement you are not ill but are encountering one of life's ultimate concerns (Yalom) and one that we all will meet at some point. I have seen that the experience of loss or anticipatory loss of a loved one can be a profound and life changing experience and I know that being witnessed by a supportive other on this painful journey can make all the difference in finding a way through.
I work with couples using a brief therapy approach. This begins with an assessment where we meet, either face to face or online, and explore the presenting issues and get a sense for each other. If we feel we can work together, we then begin on a series of up to eight sessions every 2-3 weeks.
"Finding our tribe" and feeling at home in the world is, I believe, a fundamental need. What is it like not to have this security, to feel "other", not understood, different all the time? I am interested in this experience, and I am interested in how relationship can connect us and create a bridge to meeting this profound need.
I have worked with clients in the perinatal period for the past three years and my experience has spanned infertility, miscarriage, loss of identity, postnatal depression and birth trauma. I have also worked with male partners in relation to birth trauma and the immense changes that becoming a parent entails.
