I currently divide my time between working as a Principal Psychotherapist in Secondary Care Community Mental Health Team in the NHS and Private Practice. I am experienced in working with a wide range of mental health problems including psychosis, personality disorders, clinical depression and severe anxiety. I have extensive training and experience in working with victims of domestic abuse and serious sexual assault as well as experience in Primary and Secondary Care interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Trauma Focussed interventions. As a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist I am trained to work with long term, twice weekly psychotherapy, face to face or on the couch as well as short term interventions. I have 12 years of experience in various NHS settings, including working in an Early Intervention for Psychosis Service, and an in-patient mental health services. I have facilitated and co-facilitated long terms psychotherapy groups. I am trained in CBT level 1 for PTSD and Level 1 CBT for OCD. I trained to Level 2 in DBT. I am qualified Group Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) practitioner which are both NICE Guidelines recommended interventions to use with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), however they are useful interventions for anyone who is struggling to maintain emotional regulation. I am also an Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) therapist.
I am passionate psychoanalytic, psychodynamic psychotherapist. I use a range of therapeutic approaches and skills to provide psychotherapy which will enable individuals to reflect on their current situation, find ways of expressing and communicating their understanding of the things going on in their life and to develop new skills to help them cope with their situation.
I endeavour to maintain a centre of clinical excellence. I believe in the importance of being an approachable human being, and in developing equal and ethical partnerships with everyone I have the privilege of working with.
