Sometimes we encounter problems that can feel insurmountable and we find ourselves suffering and feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
For some, the cause may be a specific event or transition in life. At other times, the roots of our struggles may seem vague, experienced through repeating patterns in our lives, depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships or addictions.
Such experiences can be a call for us to look within and to expand our level of awareness and enable new modes of being that allow us to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with ourselves and others.
Psychotherapy is a relational journey in which client and therapist work together to foster insight and understanding, to ease suffering and to recover a life of meaning, authenticity and connection.
Often people find that simply being able to speak of something in complete confidence for the first time results in a considerable lessening of anxiety.
I work in an integrative way that draws on a range of theoretical approaches and skills to work with your individual needs and tailor the therapy to you. I place emphasis on a safe, empathic and collaborative therapeutic space, valuing the unique therapeutic relationship that can develop with each individual.
I do not believe that one type of person or life is less important or valid than another, and I do not sit in judgement according to race, gender, sexuality, dis/ability or other beliefs.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
