I am a Gestalt Psychotherapist and Group Psychotherapist working at the Gestalt Centre in Camden, Caya Therapy in Peckham, and Staple Inn WC1V.
Starting therapy can be a daunting step. I take care to build an empathic space where you can feel safe enough to explore whatever brings you to therapy, including difficult and possibly painful feelings relating to the situation you are in.
In my experience therapy offers a valuable space for reflection, where you can focus on your own needs in confidence, with a trained professional; taking time to better understand yourself, your relationships, and your life as a whole.
I work colaboratively with clients, with a focus on present experiencing, to develop awareness of feelings, thoughts, behaviours and communication. This awareness can bring fresh perspectives on your past; shed light on current difficulties; and make way for new possibilities and meaningful change.
I see therapy as a creative dialogue that can enable clients to live more choiceful, satisfying and enjoyable personal and professional lives.
My gestalt approach is informed by evidence-based research in areas such as neuroscience, attachment, trauma and mindfulness.
Before training as a psychotherapist I worked in the arts for two decades, experiencing the complexies of creative processes and relationships, both in commercial and not-for-profit organisations.
I have a Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy, and MA in Gestalt Therapy Theory Studies, both from the Gestalt Centre. I am committed to ethical practice in accordance with the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. This includes undertaking ongoing professional development through regular consultation with other practitioners, training, and study.
