Sara Sanders

Sara is a qualified mental health nurse and a UKCP registered psychotherapist. She has worked within mental health services for over 20 years and has specialised in providing psychotherapy for individuals with complex emotional needs for the last 14 years. She is managing director of Sapiens and also works in the NHS as clinical specialist and clinical lead for the high intensity tier of the personality disorder service in Oxfordshire.
Sara has spent a decade working in acute psychiatry and eating disorders prior to specialising in psychotherapy and is a trainer and consultant for mental health professionals.
Sara provides supervision for psychotherapists, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and non-statutory workers. She also works within the homelessness and domestic abuse sectors in terms of consultation and supervision.
Sara is the co-founder of the leading specialist carers service for those with loved ones enduring complex emotional needs and/or a diagnosis of personality disorder. This has involved the design and delivery of education and support for parents, siblings, children, and others thrust into a support role.
She has spoken both nationally and internationally about her work.
Sara works with a relational model of psychotherapy and has an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. This model is integrative and humanistic in its origins and is concerned with relating to her clients on an authentic, human level. She offers a range of therapy and self-growth options.
