My Approach

My approach will be very shaped by the person I am working with and the issues that bought them to me. I have over the years completed many different forms of therapy and also worked in many different environments. I feel it is essential to adapt the approach I take in collaboration with the client needs and requirement.

The service I provide includes assessment of psychological need, short to medium term psychotherapy for individuals and couples. I also facilitate personal development groups. I currently provide psychotherapy consultations remotely but hope to reinstate seeing clients face to face before long (as covid numbers begin to level out).
Unfortunately, I am no longer able to take on supervisee's or clients with longer term mental health requirements.

I feel privileged to be able to do the work I do. To meet with people and support them through life changes is the essence of my work. I believe that true change comes from developing trust and working together. The client or group brings their experiences and I bring mine and together find a way of moving forward.

About Me

My name is Sandra Jay Russell . I live and work in Dorset and have been working as a psychotherapist for over 30 years. I worked for many years as a Psychological therapist within the NHS before starting my own practice many years ago.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (U.K.C.P). I have worked for many years in a therapeutic, supervisory and training capacity with individuals, couples and groups.

I have completed the UKCP Covid-19 Online Working Guidance declaration.
