I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist and supervisor with extensive experience working with both short-term and long-term models of therapy.
Prior to retraining as a therapist, I worked in the NHS supporting individuals with a wide range of physical and emotional needs. As well as my private psychotherapy practice, I have also worked at a university supporting students in that transitional period of there lives when brief therapeutic interventions can make a world of difference.
My core training was in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This is an approach which recognises the lasting impact formative experiences can have on our current lives. Since that training I have undergone further training in approaches which are based on the understanding the impact traumas and stressors can have on the nervous system. A useful part of therapy can be finding ways to emotionally regulate and place those events more firmly in the past.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
