My Approach

I have studied a number of different modalities and ways of working and I will flex my approach to meet your needs and areas of concern. I will listen to your story, try to understand and help you make use of conflicting thoughts and feelings and give you strategies to help ease anxiety or change unhelpful or destructive behaviours. I also work somatically with the body, the breath and the creative imagination, but my approach is always guided by the person or people infront of me. I am expereinced in working in person or online.

About Me

Welcome. I specialise in helping my clients gain greater clarity and happiness in relationships. I also help people manage overwhelming feelings, such as anxiety, low-self esteem or just feeling down and not sure why or what to do about it. I work with individuals and couples. My special areas of interest and experience are eating disorders, bereavement and loss, addictions, work stress, ADHD and Couple therapy.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety is very common and something I see a lot of in my practice. Mindfulness, breath work and practices that help you stay 'in the now' rather than the future or past can be very helpful in this regard. I am a trained Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) practitioner.
I have worked with many people navigating bereavement and other losses and believe it can be really helpful and healing to have time and space to process all the many different and often ambivalent feelings that inevitably arise. One also needs time to honor the life and your relatinship to the person who has died.
I suffered from anorexia in my adolescence and also Bulimia in my 20's so know from first hand expereince how tough this can be. I have worked with young and older people suffering from eating disorders and am also a nutritionist so this also guides me in my approach.
I can help improve communication and understanding in your couple, help you adjust to new roles such as becoming parents, or other challenging situaions such as work pressures/ elderley parents/sickness. Maybe you need help processing the effects of an affair or maybe you need help navigating a separation or divorce.
Stress may affect us all in different ways and my job would be to help you understand how stress affects you physiologically and emotionally and help you heed the warning signs so that burn out does not occur and you feel able to ask for additional support especailly in the work place.
