My Approach

I provide a safe, non-judgemental space in order for us to be able to think about what has brought you to therapy and to feel supported. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and eclectic in that I draw on different approaches with an overarching systemic lens based on the presenting challenges. I also like to use a creative approach and incorporate drawing, writing and play to ensure I am able to deliver therapy that suits all needs. I work from a strengths based approach and in a transparent way. My practice is informed by both NICE guidelines and evidence-based interventions combined with my direct practice experience.
I am experienced in providing both short and long-term therapeutic support for individuals, couples and families experiencing a variety of mental health presentations and associated difficulties. These include anxiety, low mood, depression, trauma, self-harm, eating disorders, substance misuse, experiences of abuse and neglect, behavioural difficulties, anti-social behaviour, relationship difficulties, adoption and kinship care support, neurodevelopmental conditions, loss, gender identity development, LGBTQ+ support.

About Me

I am a Family & Systemic Psychotherapist, Social Worker and Supervisor, with 17 years experience of working with children, adolescents, and families in mental health, social care and third sector settings. I currently work in a specialist CAMHS team and also as a clinician in a local authority. My working experience includes generic and specialist CAMHS teams, social care settings, Fostering, Adoption and Kinship Care and in a specialist Gender Identity development service.
There are times in our lives when we are presented with challenges that requires support in order for us to be able to make sense of our experiences. As a Systemic Psychotherapist I am interested in thinking about how our relationships, patterns of behaviour and early experiences have contributed to the current narratives we hold about ourselves. My first profession as a Social Worker means that I am guided by ideas around social Justice, empowerment, advocacy and anti-racist practice. I am able to work with a diverse range of people.
