I am an experienced UKCP registered psychotherapist and supervisor. I have a MSc in Transactional Analysis and further specialist training in infertility and couples work. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is invaluable to most, and that building a relationship based on trust, empathy and mutual respect creates a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to think and speak freely about their experiences. I use an integrated approach to my work with clients dependent on their needs – drawing from Transactional Analysis, humanistic and existential philosophy.
I see individuals and couples with a range of issues – anxiety, depression, anger, loneliness, phobias, jealousy, obsessions, infidelity, infertility, unrequited love - those that are feeling stuck or are struggling to find a solution to ongoing patterns in their lives or in their relationships. I can help make sense of this way of relating by offering a deeper exploration of childhood experiences and past relationships and the effect they have on your relationship attachments as an adult.
I work alongside couples to help them reconnect and rebuild their relationship, especially when communication and trust have broken down; where there is conflict or painful and difficult life events to manage.
I provide clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists. My integrative approach draws from a range of modalities, providing a collaborative supervisory relationship.
After more than a decade working in private practice, I am particularly interested in working with newly qualified practitioners, or those who are starting their private practice. I remember how intimidating this can feel at times. Alongside clinical supervision, I will offer guidance on how to set up and run a thriving, enjoyable and profitable practice.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
