I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant / Clinical Supervisor and Systemic Psychotherapist with an independent practice in Docklands, London. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach for the effective treatment of post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as well as a broad range of emotional difficulties including anxiety and depression. Traumatic events may include distressing incidents such as accidents, violence, sexual abuse and childhood attachment difficulties. NICE guidelines suggest that about 12 sessions are required for a single trauma but longer where there is multiple trauma. Sessions usually last up to 75 mins. I am happy to be contacted either by e mail or telephone to explore whether this approach may be helpful. Fees per session are £100 an hour.
I am accredited to work with adults, adolescents and children. As a Systemic and Family Psychotherapist, I worked as a manager, supervisor and clinician in Child and Adolescent Mental Health for over 25 years. I am registered with UKCP/AFT, both as a Psychotherapist and a Supervisor. Prior to my experience in CAMHS, I worked as a generic social worker and subsequently specialised in adoption and fostering. Since 2015 I have been a Professional Advisor for Young Minds.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
