Your psychological habits (eg blaming yourself for other's behaviour, or hiding aspects of your personality) were formed during childhood for good reason, but may no longer be serving you well in adulthood. A psychotherapeutic relationship, developed over time, can bring these habits into awareness and provide an opportunity for you to form new habits that better suit your current life.
