About me
I am an experienced UKCP and BABCP accredited Psychotherapist offering an integrative approach. I am committed to working with people from all walks of life regardless of age, culture, race, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic background. My work is tailored to the individual and therefore is different for each person.
My core professional training is as a Transpersonal Integrative Psychotherapist trained at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE). I have also trained in other methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
What I offer
A safe, comfortable and non-judgemental space to explore your issues in a confidential way. Talking to a professional psychotherapist can help you make sense of old unhelpful habits or beliefs, shedding new light and clarity on a situation and thus create an opportunity for positive change and transformation in your life.
How long is therapy for?
Sessions usually take place at the same time, on the same day, on a weekly basis. Short-term therapy blocks of 10-20 sessions can be useful for a particular issue using CBT or Integrative Psychotherapy. More complex issue's may need longer-term sessions to explore things in the depth needed to help get more insight around the underlying cause.
What can CBT and Psychotherapy help with? Therapy can help better manage and deal with:
- Anxiety and depression
- Generalised Anxiety/OCD/ Health Anxiety/ Social Anxiety/ Panic
- PTSD & Trauma
- Relationship issues- Interpersonal disputes and conflict/ difficulty forming and maintaining relationships
- Change & transitions in life
- Beareavement or loss
- Anger management
- Self-esteem issues
Transpersonal Integrative Psychotherapy
Transpersonal Integrative Psychotherapy offers a creative medium that incorporates traditional talking therapy approaches such as humanistic, psychodynamic and transpersonal, with the use of other techniques that are able to tap further into the unconscious realms through working with metaphor and visualisations.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT can be used for a wide variety of issues such as Depression, Panic, Generalised Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Health Anxiety, OCD, trauma & PTSD.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT is a way to incorporate mindfulness to manage thoughts & feelings and reduce distress.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
IPT focusses on addressing interpersonal difficulties in our everyday relationships with others. The 4 areas are based on looking at conflicts, grief and loss, change & transistion and difficulty in forming and maintaining relationships.
