My approach is compassionate yet active and challenging. I believe meaningful change is co-constructed between us and that the therapeutic work is a mutual endeavour of exploration and exchange. It takes courage to enter into a therapeutic relationship and I am mindful to be highly respectful of that aspect, endeavouring to bring my entire self also to the work, in order to cultivate an egalitarian platform for meaningful shifts and growth.
I work as a Humanistic Psychotherapist in Hassocks offering short and long term therapy to adults. I offer a free 30 minute consultation on Zoom.
I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where we can explore how things are for you in order to gain greater self-awareness and bring about positive change.
My background is Humanistic and I draw on relational models of therapy such as Person-Centered Therapy and Transactional Analysis and my work is underpinned by Existential ideas around self and reality. I often use narrative and metaphor in my work. It can be helpful to understand the 'stories we tell ourselves about ourselves' and where they originated. When we reflect back from the 'here and now' it is possible to bring about shifts in how we relate to ourselves, ultimately bringing about the potential for enhanced well being.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
