I'm a systemic, family and couple psychotherapist, registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT). I've practised therapy in a wide range of contexts, including Children's Social Care and the NHS. I've also supervised therapists delivering evidence-based interventions for young people on the edge of care or custody.
In my private practice, I work with individuals, couples, families, friends - indeed any grouping of people, however defined, who wish to work on their relationships with each other, or who wish to address a particular challenge or difficulty in their lives.
I belong to a tradition of psychotherapy, called "systemic" or "family" psychotherapy. This approach focuses on the relationships, contexts and interactions in which difficulties arise. It allows me to work with a whole range of issues, from problems associated with couple or family dynamics (such as family conflicts, parental separation, family transitions, etc.) to individuals struggling with loss, anxiety, depression, bullying, identity, sexuality, and so forth.
I recognise that for many people it takes enormous courage to see a therapist for the first time. I provide a non-judgemental and safe space where we can work together to support your goals and aspirations.
In the first session, we'll discuss some of the practicalities of therapy. I'll share my privacy notice and therapy agreement form with you in advance so that you know what to expect from me as a psychotherapist. I'll also explore your hopes for therapy and discuss what led you to seek support at this particular time.
Therapy with me can be short or long term, ranging from months to years. Each session lasts 50 mins and can take place face-to-face (in Rochester or West Malling) or remotely (via Microsoft Teams). I don't have specific expectations about session frequency or pacing. You may decide to see me weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on your needs and availability. We'll discuss this in the first session and again, if you wish, at any point in therapy.

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
