My Approach

I offer you a safe space to talk through what you need to, giving you the opportunity to really hear yourself clearly. It is your journey, and I will walk alongside you wherever it takes us. It may include words, images, feelings, or body sensations to help us understand your experiences. This can be a difficult process to do which involves hard work and sometimes people feel worse before they feel better which can be challenging.

You may describe your experience in a particular way such as anxiety, depression, or trauma or link it to work issues such as bullying, stress or overwhelming pressures to perform.
Or you may feel a sense of disconnect and unease that “something” is not right. Perhaps what you have tried before hasn’t helped in the way you hoped it would and you are not sure where to go next.
Whatever your reason for seeking counselling or psychotherapy together we can explore and make sense of issues that might be stopping you from living life more fully and offer you a greater sense of freedom.

By experiencing a genuine, honest, professional, safe and caring relationship with me I hope it allows you to have a better understanding of yourself and means you can experience greater freedom and explore choices that you weren’t aware of before.

Once you have this awareness you have a choice as to whether you would like things to change or not. I believe it is vital that you are in control of the direction of the process and that I am with you whatever you decide. Most people who are motivated to change and continue to work through the challenges often find it a life changing experience.

About Me

Hi. I am Rachel a fully qualified, professional UKCP registered psychotherapist. Whether you find yourself having problems with relationships, current life circumstances or aspects of your past, if things are currently difficult for you, I can offer you warm, safe, confidential and professional psychotherapy.

I have worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for the past 4 years in both the charity sector and in enhanced primary care in the NHS. Before solely concentrating on psychotherapy, I have experience within both the education and corporate sectors. I believe having a wide range of life experiences supports me to be a more rounded person and to be a more effective therapist. My experiences have given me a particular interest in how the work-place effects a person’s wellbeing, how issues in relationships can be difficult, as well has how trauma impacts people over time.

I offer both short term counselling, where we can work through a specific problem and longer-term psychotherapy where deeper issues can be explored. As part of working ethically we would regularly review progress to make sure your needs are being met.

I currently have limited availability for new clients for the next couple of months. However, if you do have any questions or are looking for something further in the future please do get in touch.
