My Approach

My approach is collaborative and strength-based, working alongside families to understand patterns in relationships and create positive change. I've supported children, young people and families with a wide range of needs including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, self-harm, suicidal ideation, neurodiversity, complex family dynamics and many more.
I'm particularly experienced in working with adopted families and those with Special Guardianship Orders, using trauma-informed and attachment-focused approaches. I value creating a safe, respectful space where all family members feel heard and understood.
Based in Nottingham, I'm passionate about increasing access to mental health support for vulnerable children and young people, having founded a Community Interest Company to provide free counselling services. Although my current work is predominantly with families, I also have significant experience of working with individuals and couples therapeutically. I actively invest in developing my knowledge and skills to work ethically with my clients. I listen to each unique individual and family I connect with and adapt my practice to support individuals and families with co-occurring mental health and neurodivergent needs.

About Me

I'm a Systemic and Family Psychotherapist, with over 13 years of counselling and psychotherapy experience across diverse settings. I currently work in a CAMHS service providing Family Therapy to young people with complex mental health needs and their families. My motivation to help support young people and families connects with the fact that I belong to a large family and in our culture, despite our 'quirks', we live by a saying that 'family is everything'. I'm a great believer in creating space for everyone's voice in the family and that most people just want to feel heard, understood and have a sense of belonging. One of the most important values I hold is 'respect', I strive to create a calm and warm space where each person I connect with feels respected and safe within our work. When I'm not doing the work I love, I enjoy running, spending time with my family and reading.
