I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. My way of working is to think about the ways in which patterns of behaving or reacting may be rooted in earlier life.
Reaching for therapy usually means that you are feeling confused, anxious, sad or stuck. A unexpected life crisis or change can feel confusing. Even desired change can feel unsettling. Therapy can offer an insight into your internal world and help you make sense of what feels painful or bewildering.
Constructive change can be put in place when we have more understanding of our relationships with others, how we defend against against psychological and emotional pain and how we face conflict.
I offer a thoughtful, confidential and caring space to think and speak, without judgement.
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with 17 years experience. I have worked in a post graduate University setting and for an Employment Assistance Provider offering counselling for employees for a wide ranging group of companies.
I have a particular interest in understanding and managing anxiety and also grief and bereavement.
I offer short term or long term therapy.
I have been in Private Practice alongside these other roles and offer counselling to individuals.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
