My Approach

My practice is grounded in my belief in the healing potential of the therapeutic relationship; I will invite you to join me in creating a relationship in which you feel understood, valued and supported. Together we will explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviour and bodily experience. Sometimes we may focus on your current difficulties, and other times I will encourage you to look beyond them, to discover how your past experiences may be influencing your here and now choices, reactions and relationships. Our work together will deepen your understanding of your current difficulties, enabling you to find resolution, experience relief, and have the capacity for satisfying and meaningful relationships in your life.

I work with people with a range of difficulties. Every client is different, so whether you have deep rooted problems such as self-esteem issues, depression or trauma, or more of a here and now difficulty such as a dilemma or a bereavement, I will tailor our work together according to your individual needs.

I value diversity in all its forms, and hope that my practice provides respite for anyone with the experience of being othered.

My practice is neuroaffirming.

About Me

Is there something you would like to change in your life, or are you struggling to cope with a life change? Do you feel stuck or overwhelmed? Are you having relationship difficulties? Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, and our difficulties are too much to cope with on our own. I look forward to welcoming you to a warm and safe space where you can experience being truly seen, heard and understood wthout fear of judgement. I will support you to understand your difficulties so that you are empowered to make lasting and profound changes in your life.

My fee is £60 for a 55 minute session. I offer a free half hour consultation or a half price full length initial session.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Performance anxiety, in particular. My background is in music performance, and I have specialist knowledge of performance anxiety. Whether you are a musician, an actor, a public speaker, or anyone who struggles under pressure to perform, I understand just how distressing your symptoms can be. You may feel unable to perform, or have lost your confidence. Together we will look beyond your symptoms to explore the origins of your difficulties, enabling you to rebuild your confidence and achieve lasting relief.
Autism and ADHD - I provide a safe space for neurodivergent people who may not have experienced relational safety in the past. Whether you are newly diagnosed, self diagnosed or have a historical diagnosis, I will support you to understand your neurodivergence and its impact on your life, from an affirming perspective.
As a parent myself, I understand how parenting can bring us face to face with issues with our relationships with our own parents. I support parents to parent their own children in the way that they choose, rather than in the way that they have been conditioned from their own parenting.
When children are not free to be who they are, but have to comply with their parent's definition of them, they often grow into adults with self-identity difficulties. I support these people to break free from their limiting historical definition, and find out who they really are.
I have completed additional training in sexual trauma and relational trauma, and I have experience working with sexual trauma, relational trauma, medical trauma, religious trauma, and child sexual abuse.
