I utilise a number of evidenced based systemic intervention approaches in my practice, always tailored to meet the specifically requested individual, couple or family needs.
As a registered family and systemic psychotherapist since 2011, I have offered consultation and interventions to families experiencing a wide range of difficulties including (but not limited to) depression, stress & anxiety, eating difficulties/disorder, attachment difficulties/disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders, psychosis, loss & bereavement, relationship difficulties, self-harm, separation & divorce, low self esteem and confidence.
As a family and systemic psychotherapist my role involves helping individuals, families or people in close relationships with each other to make useful changes in their relationships and their lives. Family and systemic psychotherapy offers opportunities for individuals, families and couples to explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely and to reflect and build upon their strengths and resources.
I have worked in NHS mental health services since 1994, initially as a community mental health charge nurse practitioner, then as a senior nurse lecturer and programme leader. Since 2011, alongside lecturing, I have been practicing as a family and systemic psychotherapist within the NHS. My practice has been based in specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHS), specialist eating disorder services and currently Early Intervention psychosis services for young people and adults. I currently work as an academic in higher education delivering post graduate child and adolescent mental health programmes and in private practice 2 days per week.

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
