As a qualified integrative psychotherapist, I draw from different approaches in order to listen effectively to your individual experiences. I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic space for you to explore, understand and cope with life's difficulties. My approach is integrative and relational which means I work collaboratively with you and your unique experiences.
I have developed a particular interest in Polyvagel Theory (Steven Porges 1994). Clients with a history of trauma can often experience more extreme autonomic responses which in turn can affect their ability to feel safe and connect with others. Learning about our own autonomic nervous system opens the door to self-compassion. We are all faced with a dilemma of balancing the drive to survive with the longing to connect with an other.

I have experience in supporting people from all different walks of life coping with a wide range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, sudden loss, childhood trauma/abuse, bullying, family conflict and relocation. I have over 30 years’ experience as a health professional, originally as a dentist and now in counselling and psychotherapy.
It takes courage to pick up the phone and find a therapist that you feel you can trust to tell your story too. Please feel free to pick up the phone and leave me a message or send me an email and I will get back to you to answer any queries that you may have and tell you about the way I work.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
