My aim as a psychotherapist is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space within which we examine together challenging issues that may prevent you from living a more fulfilling life. I offer individual and couple therapy.
When you initially contact me, I will answer any questions you may have about therapy, how I work and the next step.
Then we can book an initial appointment to explore what may bring you to therapy and discuss specific issues in more detail. At the end of the initial meeting, I will offer you feedback about what you have shared with me, and together we can think of possible options of therapeutic support.
During therapy, we can explore past events that may relate to current difficulties. This way, we can identify specific areas, i.e., relationships, work, self-esteem, life goals, where you want to introduce meaningful changes.
I use aspects from various therapeutic models such as Analytic Psychotherapy, Person-Centre Approach and Mentalization-Based Treatment. The aim is to create a therapeutic environment that is tailored to your specific needs.
Psychotherapy aims to support individuals in exploring life challenges, understanding possible triggers, and developing new ways of coping with tasks that can lead to a more fulfilling life.
My experience expands in over 25 years of working in highly specialised mental health services and private practice.
I specialise in supporting clients with any of the below issues: struggling with everyday life demands, ongoing relationship difficulties in couples, feeling misunderstood and unappreciated, negative and/or obsessive thinking, anger issues, low self-esteem, loneliness, trauma, deliberate self-harming behaviours, suicidal thoughts, personality difficulties, addictive behaviours, overwhelming work challenges, struggling to find purpose in life or have meaningful life goals.
In couple therapy the focus is on exploring and identifying recurring communication patterns that may have a negative effect on their relationship. Themes explored may relate to disconnection, isolation, regular conflicts, lack of intimacy, lack of mutual life goals.
