My approach is psychodynamic which places an emphasis on how our past experiences and our relationships with significant others influence the difficulties that we may be experiencing in the here and now.
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with many years of experience.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic space where I hope you can feel free to explore your problems and your feelings.
I believe that therapy is about change, but change cannot happen without first the thinking, the exploration and then the understanding.
Having therapy is a journey of exploration, sometimes painful, sometimes difficult but also enriching and helpful in managing yourself, your feelings and your future life.
None of us live in a vacuum and we are the product of our experiences in life, some of which may have impacted us negatively as well as positively. By understanding how our experiences have impacted us we can begin to move forward and to make changes for ourselves.
My interest and expertise are in the following areas - anxiety, depression, low self -esteem, lack of confidence, trauma, addiction, eating disorders and relationship problems.
Once you have contacted me I will invite you to come for an initial consultation where you can tell me why you are looking for help and we can then think together about the most helpful way forward.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
