My Approach

I offer a client-centred approach focussed on identifying your main areas of concern or difficulty; all clients will be offered an initial assessment session to allow us to build a shared understanding of why you are seeking therapy and ensure that my approach feels like a suitable fit for your needs. Following this we would agree a treatment plan together and depending on your needs, this may use a talking-based approach (such as Psychodynamic or Mentalisation Based Therapy), or a more structured intervention such as EMDR. I typically offer weekly sessions and the length of treatment depends on an individual client's needs and wishes.

About Me

I am a Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist currently working as a Senior Clinician in NHS Secondary Care Psychological Therapy Services within Kent, with a particular interest in Attachment Disorders and complex trauma. Following extensive experience over the past 12 years working within NHS Acute Mental Health Teams and Specialist Adoption Services, I now offer Individual Psychotherapy to individuals to adults in private practice. I am able to provide face-to-face or online sessions for individual psychotherapy; in-person appointments are offered from my consulting room in a holistic therapy service in central Maidstone.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have previously worked as a Psychotherapist within Kent’s Post Adoption Support Service, providing individual therapy to adoptees and adopters, as well as delivering preparatory interventions. I am not currently an Ofsted registered Adoption Support Agency but I remain particularly interested in the area of adoption and have worked extensively with clients who have lived experience of this.
